So tomorrow we vote for the real thing (if you already haven’t of course. And are American.)
But you know we would rather have debates between these two. VOTE NOW!
John Stewart debunks Republican claims about Sesame Street, complete with Muppet versions of Daily Show people.
Jonathan is pissed.
Let’s talk about how stupid and idiotic Fox News is: They think Sesame Street is “liberal” and “brainwashing” and talk about it while showing pictures from the 2011 movie The Muppets which has nothing to do with Sesame Street as the Sesame Street characters and The Muppets are owned by two different companies. So, not only are they blatantly wrong but they are also sharing the most idiotic opinions with no factual basis and trying to pass it off as actual news.
Now let’s talk about how awesome John Stewart is.
But… I mean.. really. I guess I take a great many of these attacks on the character of Sesame Street almost personally. I guess because I know such a great deal about the men and women who make Sesame Street happen. And I know how strong they are of character and I know how much passion they have for teaching children. The many people who work for Sesame Workshop/(Formerly) Children’s Television Workshop have spent their entire adult lives dedicated to helping children learn and grow. From the puppeteers who put so much life and passion into their characters, to the script writers who spend so much research over every line to make sure that it will help kids in the greatest way possible, to the development team which is always looking for a new and better way to teach kids…. Sesame Workshop is a company of integrity and character.
AWESOME.
*cough* Jon Stewart *cough*
Muppets Are People, My Friend.
Anyone that looks at the minuscule government subsidy that PBS gets and doesn’t see the value (or doesn’t even understand how much it is) probably didn’t watch enough PBS.
