whenindoubtthrowpenguins submitted: Okay....1) how do you search for your imagery? 2) what inspires you to post? 3) do you have criteria that you try to keep to for your postings? 4) how many other muppety blogs do you follow and what do you like about each?
Gurl you are the best.
1. A lot of the images I’ve had saved for YEARS. The majority that I’ve saved are screen captures or scans (from “Of Muppets and Men” or “Jim Henson’s The Works”). Some of those “screencaps” are me literally using my camera to take a picture of the television. That is how old some of them are. XD - The Muppet Wiki provides a few though I haven’t used them much, but I’ll use that random page button every now and again and see if something comes up I want to share. The Henson Company’s Jim’s Red Book provides all the ones with The Jim Henson Company watermarked over them, because more often than not they’re great quality pictures of stuff I’ve never seen before or Jim and other muppeteers/behind the scenes people and as you might guess from my screen caps that’s my favorite stuff. I’ll use the ole Google on occasion if I see other pictures when I’m searching for something else. Like Muppeteer birthdays. I always get Goelz and Nelson’s mixed up.
2. Most everything posted is in the queue. So you guys get your daily Muppet stuff without fail. As for stuff I post right away VS tossing in the queue, time sensitive stuff I post ASAP. Or stuff that I really really love and want everyone to see RIGHT NOW, like that Professional Pirate Avengers video. Man that was lovely. But I try to keep it on an even keel. I really dislike blogs that post twenty things at once and then don’t see from for three weeks.
3. Criteria, well, I generally don’t reblog other Muppet blogs. That’s a rule for me. Because if you’re following them like I do seeing the same picture several time in one day gets annoying. But if a muppet blog posts a really great picture or something that I have to make sure everyone sees, then I’ll toss it in the queue and at least then it’ll be a while. The only real exception to that is, again, time sensitive stuff or alerts/important news, etc. Things you need to see right now, but this other person got to it first so just in case you missed it DON’T MISS IT NOW!
4. Oh boy oh boy, here comes da list: (These are off the top of my head, tho. I’m tired. Finally home and unpacked and stuff.)
NeverTooOldToLoveMuppets - I’ve gotten to know Julie and she’s a sweetie, but even if she wasn’t so great I’d still follow because she does have a great blog. It was probably the first one I found/followed.
LoversDreamsAndYou - They’re super Muppet Show heavy with the quotes following a screen cap and I like that. Good people.
MuppetWiki - If I have to explain this, I’ma slap you widda fish.
Oh my god, I’m so tired. XD
MuppetStuff - Really neat idea. Basically just favorite Muppet things. I suggested Arm Rods and got the coolest graphic out of it.
VintageSesame - Because, yeah. What is not to love about vintage? What’s not to love about Sesame Street. It taught you to read. Probably 90% of Muppet fans were introduced to Muppets via Sesame. You basically owe that show your existence at doing anything well, let’s be honest.
